More than 1,400 students compete in YF&R livestock judging contest

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee hosted more than 1,400 students during its annual Oklahoma State Fair livestock judging contest Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, in Oklahoma City.

FFA and 4-H members in junior and senior categories judged eight categories of livestock with two classes of questions.

The top-placing teams in the contest were:

Senior FFA Division

First Place: Sentinel FFA
Second Place: El Reno FFA
Third Place: Lindsay FFA 

Senior 4-H Division

First Place: Central High 4-H 1
Second Place: Alex 4-H
Third Place: Kay County 4-H 

Junior FFA Division

First Place: Lindsay FFA Orange
Second Place: El Reno FFA
Third Place: Mulhall FFA 

Junior 4-H Division

First Place: Kay County 4-H 2
Second Place: Minco 4-H
Third Place: Weatherford 4-H

The top-placing individuals in the contest were:

First Place: Baylor Bonham, Newcastle FFA
Second Place: Garret Wellden, Guthrie FFA
Third Place: Marlie Arrs, Sentinel FFA 

Senior 4-H Division

First Place: Riley Scott, Central High 4-H
Second Place: Kale Campbell, Alfalfa 4-H
Third Place: Ashlynn Arnold, Marshall 4-H 

Junior FFA Division

First Place: Seth Tucker, Lindsay FFA
Second Place: Brooklyn Jennings, Lindsay FFA
Third Place: Zane Avant, El Reno FFA 

Junior 4-H Division

First Place: Hallie Herrel, Minco 4-H
Second Place: Tucker Jeffries, Kay County 4-H
