The Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is headed to the Panhandle region of Oklahoma for this year’s On the Road tour, June 17 – 19. The Panhandle is home to a variety of fun learning experiences, including the Black Mesa, which is the highest point in Oklahoma, and dinosaur country. The Kenton area’s lava formations features dinosaur tracks, Indian pictographs, caves and many peculiar rock formations. OKFB pleased with Right to Farm passing Senate
Oklahoma Farm Bureau thanks the Oklahoma Senate for passing HJR 1006, known as the right to farm resolution, with a vote of 44-3. The resolution would allow Oklahoma voters in November to vote on a constitutional amendment protecting the rights of the state’s farmers and ranchers to produce food, fuel and fiber. Rural women leaders feed state legislators
State lawmakers received a “taste of the country” April 15 during the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Farm City Festival at the Capitol. The event is sponsored by the OKFB Women’s Leadership Team, consisting of rural women leaders from throughout the state. The rural leaders use the Capitol’s first floor rotunda area to set out a spread of freshly prepared food, much of it home baked. The Governor’s Outstanding Achievement Award in Agriculture will be presented during a special ceremony on March 26, 2014, to Rodd Moesel of Oklahoma City.
