All seven members of Oklahoma’s delegation in the 117th United States Congress were recently honored with the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 2022 Friend of Farm Bureau award for their service to agriculture, farmers and ranchers. OKFB YF&R hosts record-breaking State Fair Livestock Judging Contest
A record 1,694 FFA and 4-H members participated in the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Sept. 15 in Oklahoma City. The contest, sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee, kicked off the festivities for the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair. Students had the opportunity to evaluate several species of livestock, including market and breeding classes of beef, sheep and swine. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed two more candidates and contributed an additional $16,900 in financial support to new and previously supported candidates leading up to the Nov. 8 general election. New OKFB Ag PAC endorsees include Josh Brecheen for United States House District 2 and Kim David, who the PAC previously supported for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. OKFB Legal Foundation praises Supreme Court in recreational marijuana ruling
The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled today to uphold the state statutory procedures a state question must follow to advance to the ballot. Last week, proponents of State Question 820 – a measure to legalize recreational marijuana – filed a petition to circumvent Oklahoma’s state statute for initiative petitions. The Court heard oral arguments on Friday, August 26 from the supporters of SQ 820 and Attorney General John O’Connor, who represented the Oklahoma Secretary of State, the Oklahoma State Election Board and Governor Kevin Stitt, who opposed the petitioners’ request to the court. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed an additional four candidates and added $29,900 in financial support for candidates before the Aug. 23 runoff election. OKFB chosen as State Business Accelerator Program partner for rural Oklahoma
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has been chosen as one of three entities that will manage the new State of Oklahoma Business Accelerator Program. OKFB was selected to administer the accelerator program in rural parts of the state by the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. The accelerator program was created to help Oklahoma companies grow while creating jobs in the state. The program has been a priority for Gov. OKFB to host FFA Reporters Conference July 11
Oklahoma Farm Bureau invites chapter FFA reporters to attend the second FFA Reporters Conference Monday, July 11 at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel in Oklahoma City. The conference will arm students with knowledge of basic communications techniques including social media, photography, videography, graphic design and writing from some of Oklahoma’s leading agricultural communications professionals.
