Mary Fallin presented two Oklahoma Farm Bureau members with her Governor’s Agriculture Awards May 9 during a ceremony hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry at the state Capitol. Keith Kisling of Burlington received the Governor’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award. This is the highest award given by the Governor to honor distinguished Oklahoma agriculture producers. Texas County Farm Bureau member Joe Mayer of Guymon, Oklahoma, has been appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin and confirmed by the Oklahoma Senate to serve a four-year term as a member of the State Board of Agriculture. The State Board of Agriculture both promotes and regulates agriculture in Oklahoma. Lexi Vanderwork, a Woodward High School senior, has been awarded a $1,000 college scholarship from the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee.
