More than 50 4-H and FFA students gathered at the Oklahoma state Capitol June 12-13 for Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s third-annual Capitol Camp. OKFB Ag PAC endorses congressional, state candidates ahead of June primary
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC political action committee has endorsed five congressional candidates and 30 state candidates ahead of Oklahoma’s primary election on Tuesday, June 18. The state Ag PAC board – a group of Farm Bureau members selected by their respective OKFB districts – met in late May to discuss candidates based on feedback gathered from county and districtwide PAC meetings throughout the month of May. OKFB hosts 20 students for the Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture Conference
Twenty high school seniors from across the state recently participated in Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture conference May 28-31 in Oklahoma City. OYLA is a four-day annual event hosted by the OKFB Young Farmers & Ranchers to prepare high school students for a future career in agriculture and to advance their leadership skills. OKFB adds two staff members to promote rural development in Oklahoma
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has added two employees to the organization’s economic development division to bolster the organization’s rural business development efforts. Sidany Hilburn and Sadie Heap will serve as community information and engagement specialists working with OKFB’s Oklahoma Grassroots Rural and Ag Business Accelerators program. The program connects rural Oklahoma innovators with opportunities and resources to spur economic development in rural communities. Applications are now open for Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s fall 2024 Oklahoma Grassroots Rural and Ag Business Accelerators Activate Oklahoma cohort. The Activate Oklahoma rural innovation pipeline provides resources and assistance for innovative rural Oklahoma businesses that have an innovation or product that will bring economic opportunities to rural Oklahoma. Activate Oklahoma cohort members will have the opportunity to participate in multiple training sessions that begin in September. Ferguson, Jackson join OKFB communications
Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently welcomed two new employees to the organization’s communications and public relations department. Mickinzi Ferguson joined OKFB as communications specialist in late May. OKFB YF&R awards ten $1,000 scholarships to high school, college students
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee recently awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to one high school senior from each OKFB district and a $1,000 scholarship to a Collegiate Farm Bureau member. Statement: OKFB applauds Stitt’s veto of water metering bill
Gov. Kevin Stitt today vetoed HB 3194, which would have required the installation of metering devices on all permitted groundwater wells in the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma Farm Bureau asked the governor to veto the bill after it unexpectedly passed the Senate and was sent to the governor in the middle of stakeholder negotiations.
