The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee donated a gift basket of snacks and gift cards to the Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa on Tuesday, March 15. Farm Bureau women donated the items to help families who have children receiving care at local hospitals during their stay at the Tulsa Ronald McDonald house. OKFB to host Flapjack Fundraiser at annual meeting
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is proud to host the Flapjack Fundraiser at its annual meeting on Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in the Cox Convention Center. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Bushels for Books Program, a partnership between the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation and the OKFB Young Farmers and Ranchers. The program will provide bushel baskets full of accurate agriculture books to teachers from five Oklahoma schools. Farm Bureau women gather in Duncan for fall rally
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its 2015 Fall Rally Oct. 30-31 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Farm Family of the Year applications due July 31
The application deadline is drawing near for Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee’s Farm Family of the Year award, which recognizes a top farm and ranch family in rural Oklahoma. Applications from around the state must be submitted by July 31. Once applications from around Oklahoma are collected, a farm family from each of the nine OKFB districts will be chosen to represent their region at the OKFB annual meeting in Oklahoma City. OKFB WLC Nurse’s Scholarship July 15 deadline approaching
The deadline for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee’s Nurse’s Scholarship is July 15. The annual scholarship program awards three $500 scholarships to students studying nursing at an accredited college, university, vo-tech or trade school. Applicants must be Oklahoma Farm Bureau members or a member of a Farm Bureau member family. The WLC understands the important role nurses and healthcare professionals play in ensuring a high quality of life for all residents across our state, and especially rural residents. OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee hosts Youth Safety Day
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its first Safety Day on June 4 at the OKFB home office in Oklahoma City. At the event, 12- to 17-year-old youth from around the state learned ATV safety, fire safety, DUI prevention, poison control and more. “We want our children, our young people, and even parents to be aware of safety,” said Kitty Beavers, chair of the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee. Throughout the day, students cycled through stations that focused on safety in various situations. OKFB women bring farm message to OKC-area students
Members of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee shared the farm and ranch story with third- and fourth-grade students during Super Ag Day held May 6 and 7 in Oklahoma City. The WLC members used the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation’s commodity trailer to share with students how food gets from the field to consumers’ tables. OKFB Youth Safety Day coming June 4
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee will hold its first-annual Safety Day Thursday, June 4, at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau home office in Oklahoma City. The program is for students 12-17. Participants will learn about ATV safety, fire safety, vehicle rollovers, DUI prevention and more through a series of hands-on training and experience. OKFB Women take country cooking to the Capitol
The annual Farm City Festival, hosted by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, gave state lawmakers a taste of country at the state Capitol on Tuesday, April 21. The OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee, consisting of rural women leaders from throughout the state, used the Capitol’s first floor rotunda to set out a spread of freshly prepared food, much of it home-baked, for the legislators.
