The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee recently donated $600 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City as a part of the “Our Food Link” initiative. In addition to the donation made by state women’s committee, Oklahoma County Farm Bureau also donated $100 to the charity organization. OKFB women have had a long history of partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, donating time and money in many capacities over the last several years. Krehbiel family named OKFB Farm Family of the Year
Karen Krehbiel and her daughter Brittany, along with Karen’s mother-in-law, Fern, and father-in-law, Wayne, were named the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year during OKFB’s 73rd Annual Meeting Nov. 15 in Tulsa. The Krehbiels, one of six OKFB district farm family finalists, were chosen for their ability to best represent farming and ranching and the spirit of Oklahoma agriculture. “It is truly an honor to represent Oklahoma agriculture and represent all of the families that farm in Oklahoma,” Karen said. Oklahoma Farm Bureau members elected to leadership positions
Several leadership positions, including three state board members, were decided during Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s 73rd Annual Convention Nov. 14-16 in Tulsa. Voting delegates to the annual meeting elected three state directors, chairman of the Women’s Leadership Committee and chairman of the Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. District 1 Alan Jett of Beaver County was re-elected to a three-year term on the OKFB board of directors representing District 1. The Women’s Leadership Committee will be hosting their annual Winter Rally Dec. 5-6 at the NCED Conference Center and Hotel in Norman. The event will feature a trade show and silent auction for all participants. Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Team donates books to elementary schools in Moore
In Moore, Oklahoma, Plaza Towers Elementary School and Briarwood Elementary School are both gearing up for a busy year as students return to class. However, these two schools are different than others because both of these schools were destroyed during the May 20, 2013, tornado. The deadline for the 2014 Farm Family of the Year district applications is fast approaching! Applications must be turned in by Friday, Aug. 1. OKFB Women’s Leadership Team hosting Summer Conference
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Team will hold its 2014 Summer Conference on July 11 and 12 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The conference will take place in the Reed Center attached to the Sheraton Midwest City hotel. The two-day leadership training event will include: breakout sessions covering social media, fraud protection, election candidates and more; a presentation by OKFB member Marcy Luter; and an informational tour of the Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City gardens. Rural women leaders feed state legislators
State lawmakers received a “taste of the country” April 15 during the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Farm City Festival at the Capitol. The event is sponsored by the OKFB Women’s Leadership Team, consisting of rural women leaders from throughout the state. The rural leaders use the Capitol’s first floor rotunda area to set out a spread of freshly prepared food, much of it home baked. OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donates $3,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities
The OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donated $3,000 in food products to the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City and the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, as part of the new AFBF Our Food Link initiative. The members also cooked and served a meal for the families staying in the Oklahoma City location. Our Food Link is a year-round program that county and state Farm Bureaus use to provide consumers of all ages and backgrounds with information about today’s agriculture. This includes helping people connect with sources of clothing, food, shelter and energy in their communities. […]
