Congressman Frank Lucas was recognized with the Distinguished Service to Oklahoma Farm Bureau Award on Saturday, Nov. 9, during the organization’s 83rd annual meeting in Oklahoma City. The award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to agriculture and the Farm Bureau organization. Oklahoma Farm Bureau honored achievements and accomplishments of the organization’s members during the past year at OKFB’s annual awards banquet held Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City. Awards were presented to county Farm Bureaus for outstanding achievement in advocating for agriculture and Oklahoma’s rural communities with county star awards, the John I. Taylor Award, the Lewis H. Munn Award and more. OKFB state resolutions committee considers grassroots policy proposals for 2025
More than 40 Oklahoma Farm Bureau members gathered for the annual state resolutions committee meeting Oct. 22-23 in Oklahoma City. The committee comprised of Farm Bureau members representing the 27 counties selected for the 2024 resolutions committee as well as representatives from the OKFB state board of directors, Young Farmers and Ranchers, and the Women’s Leadership Committee. The committee met over the course of two days to consider, discuss and vote upon hundreds of county-submitted policy resolutions on major agricultural topics, including water usage, wind and solar energy, livestock and more. Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to host the second-annual Ag Defense Fundraiser Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. at Castle Falls in Oklahoma City. Tickets for the event are $250 per person. Table sponsorships are available for $2,500 and include eight seats and recognition at the event. OKFB names Westwood head of public policy, Milliman joins department
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has selected Kinsey Westwood to lead the organization’s public policy department as senior director of public policy, and has tapped Gage Milliman to join the policy department as a director of public policy. Westwood has served as OKFB’s Senior Public Policy Consultant since 2023 in addition to a previous stint with the organization from 2011-2012. In her new role, Westwood will oversee the advocacy efforts of Oklahoma’s largest general farm organization at the state legislature and through the rulemaking and regulatory processes. Oklahoma Farm Bureau members are invited to share their stories of how the expiration of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will impact their operations ahead of a tax roundtable hosted by Congressman Kevin Hern on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Oklahoma City. OKFB hosts first of several meetings on private property rights
Oklahoma Farm Bureau held the first of several public meetings on private property rights on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Lincoln County fairgrounds in Chandler.
