USDA announces $1 billion for CFAP 2 payments for contract growers
Oklahoma livestock and poultry producers who did not previously qualify for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 can now apply to receive aid. OKFB welcomes $30 million grants for rural broadband
Oklahoma Farm Bureau commends the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s recent announcement to invest more than $30 million dollars in broadband infrastructure in rural Oklahoma, a priority issue for the organization. OKFB reviews Sen. Inhofe legislation protecting GPS on farms and ranches
Oklahoma Farm Bureau discussed Sen. Jim Inhofe’s bill protecting farmers and ranchers’ ability to use critical GPS and precision agriculture technologies with the senator’s chief of staff Luke Holland during a recent video. Stepped-up basis, estate taxes reviewed by Texas A&M through study
The Texas A&M University Agricultural and Food Policy Center recently released a report over the economic impacts on agricultural producers of proposed legislation regarding the stepped-up basis and estate taxes. Based on the proposed STEP Act and the For the 99.5%, the study analyzed the potential changes for producers passing operations down from generations to generations. Oklahoma Farm Bureau does not support added taxation for farmers and ranchers. Because agriculture Is capital intensive, added taxes through the proposed stepped-up basis and estate tax changes would hinder producers from transferring operations through generations. OKFB Legal Foundation supports campaign against Colorado Initiative 16
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation recently donated $5,000 to the Coloradans for Animal Care campaign against Colorado Initiative 16, a citizen-led proposal that would have far-reaching implications for livestock producers across the country. What to expect when applying for or renewing an ag sales tax exemption permit
Over the past several months, Oklahoma Farm Bureau has heard concern from members facing new challenges obtaining an agricultural sales tax exemption permit- a crucial business tool exempting nearly all inputs used in production agriculture from sales tax. OKFB, along with a broad coalition of statewide agriculture groups, worked to pass legislation this year to provide additional options to prove eligibility for the permit.
