Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to host the second Evening of Impact fundraising event supporting the OKFB Ag PAC Friday, Dec. 2 at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City. The OKFB Ag PAC supports state and federal candidates for office who share Farm Bureau members’ rural values and understand the important role agriculture plays in our state and our nation. OKFB Ag PAC endorses two additional candidates, expands financial support ahead of Nov. 8 general election
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed two more candidates and contributed an additional $16,900 in financial support to new and previously supported candidates leading up to the Nov. 8 general election. New OKFB Ag PAC endorsees include Josh Brecheen for United States House District 2 and Kim David, who the PAC previously supported for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. OKFB Legal Foundation praises Supreme Court in recreational marijuana ruling
The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled today to uphold the state statutory procedures a state question must follow to advance to the ballot. Last week, proponents of State Question 820 – a measure to legalize recreational marijuana – filed a petition to circumvent Oklahoma’s state statute for initiative petitions. The Court heard oral arguments on Friday, August 26 from the supporters of SQ 820 and Attorney General John O’Connor, who represented the Oklahoma Secretary of State, the Oklahoma State Election Board and Governor Kevin Stitt, who opposed the petitioners’ request to the court. OKFB Legal Foundation files brief in recreational marijuana case
The Oklahoma Supreme Court heard an oral presentation Friday, August 26 after a group associated with State Question 820, a potential measure that would legalize recreational marijuana, filed a petition to circumvent Oklahoma’s state statute requiring the completion of a number of procedures before a state question can appear on a ballot. Another year of August Area Meetings has come to a close. Farm Bureau members from every corner of the state gathered for a total of 11 districtwide meetings during the weeks of August 8 and August 15. August Area Meetings serve as the beginning of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s grassroots policy development season where members bring forth top issues facing farmers and ranchers. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed an additional four candidates and added $29,900 in financial support for candidates before the Aug. 23 runoff election. OKFB hosts inaugural Youth Legislative Experience
Nearly 70 FFA and 4-H members descended on the Oklahoma state Capitol for the inaugural Oklahoma Farm Bureau Youth Legislative Experience July 12-13 in Oklahoma City. The first of its kind for OKFB, the Youth Legislative Experience was an immersive two-day event for high school juniors and seniors to learn about Oklahoma’s legislative process and how a bill becomes law through a mock legislature held on the floor of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. SCOTUS rules on Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation is pleased with the Supreme Court of the United States decision in State of Oklahoma v. Victor Manuel Castro-Huerta, announced Wednesday, June 29, nearly two years after the 2020 ruling in Jimcy McGirt v. State of Oklahoma. Meek brings rural perspective to Oklahoma Broadband Governing Board
Oklahoma Farm Bureau Treasurer and District 9 Director Jim Meek was recently elected as vice-chair of the newly formed Oklahoma Broadband Governing Board.
