Bushels for Books applications due June 15
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee and Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s Bushels for Books application is now available. The program provides accurate agriculture books to schools across the state. Pre-k to eighth-grade teachers can submit an application for their grade level or a school librarian can submit an application for books that span multiple grade levels. All books available are grade level appropriate and will be chosen from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s agriculture book database. OKFB women gather for 2023 OKFB WLC Conference
Oklahoma Farm Bureau women from across the state gathered for the annual Women’s Leadership Committee Conference April 21-22 at the POSTOAK Lodge in Tulsa. The more than 90 attendees had the opportunity attend breakout sessions, complete two community service projects, participate in a silent auction and hear from Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell’s Chief of Staff Kirby Smith and OKFB Executive Director Thad Doye. Breakout session topics included wills and trusts, dam safety, the WLC Advocacy Program, drought recovery, making life accessible to all Oklahomans, agriculture health and wellness, integrating beef into diets, leadership development and yoga. WLC hosts annual Farm City Festival March 21
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee provided meals to more than 400 legislators, staff and visitors at the Oklahoma State Capitol Tuesday, March 21, during the committee’s annual Farm City Festival. Nearly 20 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership and Young Farmers and Ranchers members attended the American Farm Bureau FUSION Conference March 3-6 in Jacksonville, FL. OKFB’s Bushels for Books donates agriculture books to 13 Oklahoma teachers
Thirteen Oklahoma teachers were recently selected to receive a basket of accurate agriculture books as part of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Bushels for Books program. The program is a collaboration between the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture and the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee. WLC awards four scholarships for nurse’s training
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee recently awarded four scholarships to students pursuing a degree in nursing. The recipients of the WLC Nurse’s Training Scholarship are Kristy Fitzl of Morris, Victoria Geralds of Mangum, Ariya Regnier of Cushing and Madison Rowe of Oklahoma City. The scholarship is awarded to those who are attending an accredited college, university or trade school, and must be an Oklahoma Farm Bureau member or a member of a Farm Bureau-member family.
