OKFB members attend AFBF FUSION Conference
Nearly 20 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership and Young Farmers and Ranchers members attended the American Farm Bureau FUSION Conference March 3-6 in Jacksonville, FL. Join fellow Oklahoma Farm Bureau women during the 2023 OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee Conference April 21-22 at POSTOAK Lodge in Tulsa. OKFB’s Bushels for Books donates agriculture books to 13 Oklahoma teachers
Thirteen Oklahoma teachers were recently selected to receive a basket of accurate agriculture books as part of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Bushels for Books program. The program is a collaboration between the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture and the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee. WLC awards four scholarships for nurse’s training
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee recently awarded four scholarships to students pursuing a degree in nursing. The recipients of the WLC Nurse’s Training Scholarship are Kristy Fitzl of Morris, Victoria Geralds of Mangum, Ariya Regnier of Cushing and Madison Rowe of Oklahoma City. The scholarship is awarded to those who are attending an accredited college, university or trade school, and must be an Oklahoma Farm Bureau member or a member of a Farm Bureau-member family. OKFB WLC donates blankets to Norman Veterans Home
Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee members presented approximately 50 handmade blankets to the Normans Veterans Home on Monday, July 18. The blankets were made by OKFB members as a community service project during the WLC’s annual conference held in April. Candice McIntire, activity director at the Norman Veterans Home, said the blankets are an invaluable resource for the veterans at the facility. “Several of our veterans – as they get older – they get cold,” McIntire said. “They will be used to keep them warm. OKFB WLC to sponsor five grant opportunities for school gardens
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee is proud to sponsor the 2022 Oklahoma Farm to School Garden of the Year contest. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Farm to School program encourages teachers to integrate agricultural lessons into their everyday curriculum so students can learn more about where their food comes from. Schools who have an established garden or are creating a garden are encouraged to apply for one of the five grants offered. OKFB women gather for 2022 WLC Conference
More than 90 women attended the 2022 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee Conference April 22-23 at the NCED Hotel and Conference Center in Norman. The two-day event featured breakout sessions, a community service project, a silent auction and speakers including Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur and OKFB President Rodd Moesel.
