The Women’s Leadership Committee will be hosting their annual Winter Rally Dec. 5-6 at the NCED Conference Center and Hotel in Norman. The event will feature a trade show and silent auction for all participants. Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Team donates books to elementary schools in Moore
In Moore, Oklahoma, Plaza Towers Elementary School and Briarwood Elementary School are both gearing up for a busy year as students return to class. However, these two schools are different than others because both of these schools were destroyed during the May 20, 2013, tornado. OKFB Women’s Leadership Team hosting Summer Conference
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Team will hold its 2014 Summer Conference on July 11 and 12 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The conference will take place in the Reed Center attached to the Sheraton Midwest City hotel. The two-day leadership training event will include: breakout sessions covering social media, fraud protection, election candidates and more; a presentation by OKFB member Marcy Luter; and an informational tour of the Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City gardens. Oklahoma Farm Bureau receives grant from AFBF Women’s Leadership Team
From a strong field of applicants, three state and four county Farm Bureaus were selected to each receive a $700 grant from the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee to help fund “Our Food Link” activities. Grant recipients are: Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Utah Farm Bureaus; Dickey County (North Dakota), Franklin County (Virginia), Jerome County (Idaho) and Summit County (Ohio). OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donates $3,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities
The OKFB Women’s Leadership Team donated $3,000 in food products to the Ronald McDonald House of Oklahoma City and the Ronald McDonald House of Tulsa, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12, as part of the new AFBF Our Food Link initiative. The members also cooked and served a meal for the families staying in the Oklahoma City location. Our Food Link is a year-round program that county and state Farm Bureaus use to provide consumers of all ages and backgrounds with information about today’s agriculture. Rural Women Leaders To Meet In Norman Dec. 5-6
Rural women leaders from across the state will be gathering in Norman Dec. 5-6 for the annual Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Rally. The conference will be held at the Sooner Legends Inns and Suites. “This is an educational as well as a social opportunity for rural women,” said Clara Wichert, Fairview, Chairperson of the OFB Women’s Committee. Following a kick-off luncheon on Friday there will be a series of mini sessions on health care, public policy and media relations.
