Oklahoma Farm Bureau members elected and re-elected several leaders during the organization’s 83rd annual meeting Nov. 8-10 in Oklahoma City. Board of directors Jimmy Taylor of Roger Mills County was elected to serve as the new District 2 director, filling the seat of retiring director Monte Tucker. He will serve a three-year term representing Beckham, Custer, Greer, Harmon, Kiowa, Jackson, Roger Mills, Tillman and Washita counties. OKFB hosts record-breaking state fair livestock judging contest
Oklahoma Farm Bureau hosted 64 schools, totaling 2,023 4-H and FFA students for the annual state fair livestock judging contest on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Oklahoma State Fair. Participants judged eight classes of cattle, hogs, sheep and goats. Students evaluated eight breeding classes of cattle, sheep, goats and hogs. Participants also answered two sets of questions about one class of cattle and one class of hogs. The top three individuals in the junior 4-H division were Bennett Landreth, Lomega 4-H: 462; Dax Inman, Mulhall-Orlando 4-H: 455; and Hayes Anderson, Purcell 4-H: 449. YF&R members join together in Tulsa for the 2024 YF&R Summer Conference
More than 50 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers joined together in Tulsa for the 2024 YF&R Summer Conference July 26-28. Farm Bureau members ages 18-35 had the opportunity to tour local agricultural facilities and network with fellow farmers and ranchers during the three-day event. Tommy and Chalaynna Salisbury welcomed the group Friday evening for dinner at their sale barn, where Meggie and Jake Gibbs shared financial resources and opportunities farmers for farmers and ranchers.
