Twenty high school seniors from across the state recently participated in Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture conference May 28-31 in Oklahoma City. OYLA is a four-day annual event hosted by the OKFB Young Farmers & Ranchers to prepare high school students for a future career in agriculture and to advance their leadership skills. OKFB YF&R awards ten $1,000 scholarships to high school, college students
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee recently awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to one high school senior from each OKFB district and a $1,000 scholarship to a Collegiate Farm Bureau member. YF&R scholarship applications now available
Applications are now available for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers high school and collegiate scholarships. The high school scholarship awards nine $1,000 scholarships – one per OKFB district – to graduating high school seniors from Farm Bureau families planning to study agriculture at an accredited Oklahoma college, university or technical school. The collegiate scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to an Oklahoma Collegiate Farm Bureau member. Applications must be postmarked by April 1. Harmon named senior director of Young Farmers & Ranchers
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has named Burton Harmon as the organization’s senior director of Young Farmers and Ranchers. In his new position, Harmon will work alongside OKFB’s grassroots-elected YF&R Committee to coordinate programs and events for Oklahoma agriculturalists ages 18-35 to help young Farm Bureau members develop their leadership, advocacy and business skills. OKFB hosts successful 82nd annual meeting

OKFB members elect new, returning leaders at 2023 annual meeting
Oklahoma Farm Bureau members elected and re-elected several leaders during the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 10-12 in Oklahoma City. Rodd Moesel was re-elected to serve his final two-year term as OKFB president. Moesel has served as OKFB president since 2017. Leon Richards of Texas County was re-elected to serve a three-year term as District Three director. Richards will represent Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Harper, Ellis, Woodward and Dewey Counties.
