Oklahoma high school students completing their junior year in 2023 are invited to apply for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture conference held June 13-16 in Oklahoma City. The conference will include leadership development, knowledgeable speakers, networking opportunities and agriculture industry experience. Students selected to attend the four-day leadership conference should be excellent students at the top of their class with an interest in pursuing a post-secondary education. Farm Bureau members ages 18-35 are encouraged to attend the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Legislative Day April 11 at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City. Farmers, ranchers and rural Oklahomans will join their fellow YF&R members as they work to promote agriculture at the state Capitol and learn more about Farm Bureau policy. YF&R scholarship applications now open
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is now accepting applications for their annual $1,000 for nine high school seniors and one Collegiate Farm Bureau member pursing an agriculture degree. Scholarships will be awarded to one high school student in every OKFB district and one college or university student with an active Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter. OKFB YF&R hosts record-breaking State Fair Livestock Judging Contest
A record 1,694 FFA and 4-H members participated in the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Sept. 15 in Oklahoma City. The contest, sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee, kicked off the festivities for the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair. Students had the opportunity to evaluate several species of livestock, including market and breeding classes of beef, sheep and swine.
