The 2008 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year will be announced at the organization’s annual awards and recognition ceremony Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cox Convention Center, Oklahoma City.
“This is an opportunity to highlight the many hard working farm families in this state,” said Mike Spradling, OFB president.
The farm family winner is chosen on the basis of its success in the industry and involvement in Farm Bureau. Farm families are nominated by their county Farm Bureau Women’s Committee.
This year there are 14 farm families from every region of the state competing for the title.
The list includes:
Russell and Dianna Yell, Adair County; Scott and Laura Cormack, Alfalfa County; Gary and Kimberly Adams, Choctaw County; Allan and Janna Barrington, Comanche County; Bryan and Staci Hunter, Custer County; Harvey and Ruth Moeller, Kiowa County; Allen and Susan Brewer, LeFlore County; Charles and Jan Person, Muskogee County; Scott and Carol Dvorak, Noble County; Albert and Betty Rutledge, Payne County; Joseph and Monica Morrow, Pontotoc County; Steven and Tracy Shepherd, Seminole County; Jack and Sandra Berry, Stephens County and William and Carolyn Fesler, Washington County.
The winning farm family will receive the free use of a 2009 Dodge pickup for one year and a paid trip to the American Farm Bureau convention in San Antonio, TX, Jan. 11-14, 2009.
