Attorney Ryan Jackson has joined the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation as the associate director.
For the last two years, Jackson has been working in Washington, D.C., as the majority counsel for the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, working on issues for Sen. Jim Inhofe, who chairs the committee. In this role Jackson assisted Sen. Inhofe in drafting legislation, planning and conducting committee hearings, leading oversight activities of federal agencies under the committee’s jurisdiction, and other general legislative counsel.
As the associate director for the OFB Legal Foundation, Jackson is the chief counsel and litigator. He will research legal issues affecting Farm Bureau members in and out of the courts.
"It is great to be back in Oklahoma, and I look forward to my work at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation," Jackson said. "During my time in Washington, D.C., I had the opportunity to work closely with Farm Bureau on several issues and now look forward to working directly with such a great organization."
Jackson, a native of Oklahoma City, attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in political science in 1998. He obtained a law degree from Oklahoma City University in 2001. Jackson served as Tulsa County Assistant District Attorney from the fall of 2001 to 2003.
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation was created in 2001 by the OFB Board of Directors for the purpose of entering the legal arena to protect private property rights and production agriculture. The Legal Foundation strives to serve farmers and ranchers through engaging in public interest litigation, researching legal issues affecting family farmers and rural Oklahomans, and educating farmers and ranchers and the public about issues important to agriculture.
