Ervin Mitchell of Beaver County was recognized with the Distinguished Service to Oklahoma Farm Bureau Award during the OKFB 74th Annual Convention Nov. 13 in Oklahoma City. The Distinguished Service Award honors OKFB members who have made outstanding contributions to agriculture and the Farm Bureau organization. Mitchell has been in agriculture for nearly 70 years and served on the state Farm Bureau board of directors for nine years. “As far as I’m concerned, Farm Bureau members are the cream of the crop,” Mitchell said. Piper Merritt of Owasso, Oklahoma, was the winner of the high school discussion meet held by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers. Foundation to sell brick pavers for commemorative courtyard
The Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation is now offering personalized, engraved brick pavers to provide the basis for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau 75th Anniversary Commemorative Courtyard, to be located on the southeast side of the home office in Oklahoma City. The Foundation will begin selling the brick pavers at the OKFB 74th Annual Meeting. The four-inch by eight-inch brick pavers may be engraved with up to three lines of text, with a maximum of 18 characters per line. OKFB to host Flapjack Fundraiser at annual meeting
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is proud to host the Flapjack Fundraiser at its annual meeting on Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in the Cox Convention Center. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Bushels for Books Program, a partnership between the Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation and the OKFB Young Farmers and Ranchers. The program will provide bushel baskets full of accurate agriculture books to teachers from five Oklahoma schools. Farm Bureau women gather in Duncan for fall rally
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee hosted its 2015 Fall Rally Oct. 30-31 in Duncan, Oklahoma. State resolutions committee prepares policies for 2016
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau state resolutions committee met Oct. 20-21 in Oklahoma City to review, condense and organize resolutions for its 2016 policy book. The meeting served as one of the final steps in the organization’s grassroots policy development process.
