The District Administrator of the Year Award is presented to one county Farm Bureau administrator from each OKFB district for their contributions to the overall success of their county Farm Bureau organization. Oklahoma Farm Bureau honored achievements and accomplishments of the organization’s members during the past year at OKFB’s annual awards banquet held Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City. Awards were presented to county Farm Bureaus for outstanding achievement in advocating for agriculture and Oklahoma’s rural communities with county star awards, the John I. Taylor Award, the Lewis H. Munn Award and more. OKFB Foundation for Agriculture to host silent auction, rifle raffle fundraisers at OKFB annual meeting
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture will host two fundraising activities for OKFB members to support the foundation during the 2023 OKFB Annual Meeting Nov. 10-12 in Oklahoma City. The foundation will host their annual silent auction in the Oklahoma Station 1-3 rooms and the Pinion Room at the Oklahoma City Omni Hotel and Convention Center. Breakout sessions to provide agricultural, rural updates at OKFB annual meeting
Oklahoma Farm Bureau members will have three unique opportunities to learn, grow and expand their agricultural horizons with breakout sessions on Friday, Nov. 10, during the 2023 OKFB annual meeting. OKFB’s grassroots policymaking continues at state resolutions committee meeting
Nearly 40 Oklahoma Farm Bureau members gathered in Oklahoma City for the OKFB state resolutions committee meeting Oct. 24-25. Members spent two days reviewing, discussing and voting on county-submitted policy resolutions that will ultimately guide OKFB’s advocacy efforts in the coming years. More than 300 resolutions were sent in for consideration and covered a wide swath of topics, including improvements in the Commissioners of the Land Office management, ad valorem taxes and farm bill programs. Twelve Oklahoma teachers receive agriculture books through OKFB’s Bushels for Books
Twelve Oklahoma teachers were recently selected to receive a bushel basket of accurate agriculture books as part of Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Bushels for Books program. OKFB members explore “toxic grit” in final mental wellbeing webinar
Oklahoma Farm Bureau members wrapped up the webinar portion of the Cultivating Healthy Minds series with a look at resilience in agriculture on Friday, Oct. 13. The finale of the three-part webinar series featured Oklahoma State University’s Dr. Shannon Ferrell as he led members through an exploration of agriculture’s unique stressors and risks when it comes to mental health. OKFB members urged to comment on EPA proposed herbicide strategy
Oklahoma Farm Bureau members are invited to submit their concerns about the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed herbicide strategy before the Oct. 22 comment period deadline. EPA released the Draft Herbicide Strategy Framework in July in response to extensive litigation from environmental groups about EPA’s noncompliance with the Endangered Species Act. The proposed framework is EPA’s attempt to protect some 900 endangered species and their habitats through significant use restrictions and mitigations on most agricultural herbicide uses. Growers located in pesticide use limitation areas – or PULAs – which include many parts of Oklahoma, could be subject to even greater restrictions. […]

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee is set to host the annual high school, collegiate and YF&R discussion meets at the OKFB Annual Meeting at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City. The high school discussion meet will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 and is open to all Oklahoma high school students. The collegiate discussion meet, open to any Oklahoma Collegiate Farm Bureau members, and YF&R discussion meet, open to OKFB members ages 18-35, will be held Friday, Nov. 10.
