OKFB YF&R to host shotgun shoot fundraiser Aug. 26
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee invites Farm Bureau members and supporters to participate in the fifth-annual shotgun shoot Aug. 26 at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie. The fundraising event will benefit the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture, which strives to connect consumers of all ages with farmers and ranchers to further their understanding of where the food, fuel and fiber comes from. OKFB hosts second-annual Capitol Camp
More than 70 4-H and FFA students gathered at the Oklahoma state Capitol June 27-28 for Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s second-annual Capitol Camp. 2023 Legislative Review
The first regular session of the 59th Oklahoma legislature adjourned sine die on Friday, May 26, and the halls of the state Capitol have once again grown quiet. OKFB to host three summer events for Generation Bridge members
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is excited to host three summer events for members ages 35-55 during the Generation Bridge Summer Series throughout July and August. The Generation Bridge program is geared toward farmers, ranchers and agriculturalists in the middle of their career and want to expand their agricultural knowledge, connections and leadership experience. County Farm Bureaus partner with OKFB to donate nearly $20,000 to food assistance programs
Forty-six county Farm Bureaus and four county Women’s Leadership Committees across the state along with Oklahoma Farm Bureau donated nearly $20,000 to food banks, food pantries, meal assistance programs and after school programs in Oklahoma. The OKFB Community Food Assistance Matching Program, which is in its third year, connects county Farm Bureaus with their communities through donations to local food assistance programs, and OKFB matches up to $100 for each county donation – doubling the impact of the gift. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee invites Farm Bureau members ages 18-35 to attend the YF&R Summer Conference July 28-30 in Oklahoma City. The conference will offer YF&R members the chance to meet farmers and ranchers from across the state, tour local agricultural facilities around Oklahoma City and Guthrie and learn more about YF&R leadership opportunities and programs. Carson and Schaufele join OKFB as summer interns
Two Oklahoma State University students joined Oklahoma Farm Bureau in May as summer interns. Liberty Carson and Caden Schaufele will assist with OKFB programs and participate in activities and events throughout the coming months. Carson is an animal science and agribusiness junior at OSU. Carson will primarily work with the public policy department and the Young Farmers and Ranchers. Supreme court WOTUS decision a step in the right direction for Oklahoma agriculture
The U.S. Supreme Court today ruled in favor of landowner rights in their Sackett v. Bushels for Books applications due June 15
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee and Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s Bushels for Books application is now available. The program provides accurate agriculture books to schools across the state. Pre-k to eighth-grade teachers can submit an application for their grade level or a school librarian can submit an application for books that span multiple grade levels. All books available are grade level appropriate and will be chosen from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s agriculture book database.
