Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently hired Krista Carroll as publications specialist in the organization’s communications and public relations department. OKFB honored with four AFBF State Awards of Excellence
Oklahoma Farm Bureau was recognized with four American Farm Bureau State Awards of Excellence for outstanding programs and achievements during 2022. OKFB was recognized for accomplishments in advocacy, coalitions and partnerships, engagement and outreach, and leadership and business development, earning awards in all four program areas. YF&R scholarship applications now open
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is now accepting applications for their annual $1,000 for nine high school seniors and one Collegiate Farm Bureau member pursing an agriculture degree. Scholarships will be awarded to one high school student in every OKFB district and one college or university student with an active Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 24. Requirements for each scholarship program can be found below. Join fellow Oklahoma Farm Bureau women during the 2023 OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee Conference April 21-22 at POSTOAK Lodge in Tulsa. OKFB disappointed in poultry case decision
Oklahoma Farm Bureau members are disappointed with the conclusion reached by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma today finding in favor of the state of Oklahoma and holding poultry companies liable for high phosphorous levels causing pollution in the Illinois River Watershed. For decades, Oklahoma poultry farmers have been regulated by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry which requires nutrient management plans and limits on poultry litter application. Oklahoma County Farm Bureau donates $5,000 to food bank
Oklahoma County Farm Bureau donated $5,000 to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma on Jan. 12. The food bank distributes food and provides other resources to 53 counties in central and western Oklahoma through more than 1,300 partner agencies. “For every dollar donated, we can turn that into four meals for an Oklahoman living with hunger,” said Chan Klingensmith, RFBO development officer. “Annually, the food bank is able to donate over 50 million pounds of food.
