Oklahoma Farm Bureau members ages 18 to 35 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of OKFB Young Farmers and Ranchers competitive events during the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 11-13. Oklahoma Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for the OKFB Expo annual meeting trade show Nov. 11-13 at the Embassy Suites and Convention Center in Norman. The OKFB Expo provides vendors an opportunity to connect with farmers and ranchers from across the state during the gathering of the largest farm organization in Oklahoma. Oklahoma congressional delegation honored with Friend of Farm Bureau awards
All seven members of Oklahoma’s delegation in the 117th United States Congress were recently honored with the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 2022 Friend of Farm Bureau award for their service to agriculture, farmers and ranchers. OKFB YF&R hosts record-breaking State Fair Livestock Judging Contest
A record 1,694 FFA and 4-H members participated in the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds Sept. 15 in Oklahoma City. The contest, sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee, kicked off the festivities for the 2022 Oklahoma State Fair. Students had the opportunity to evaluate several species of livestock, including market and breeding classes of beef, sheep and swine. Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to host the second Evening of Impact fundraising event supporting the OKFB Ag PAC Friday, Dec. 2 at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City. WLC awards four scholarships for nurse’s training
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee recently awarded four scholarships to students pursuing a degree in nursing. The recipients of the WLC Nurse’s Training Scholarship are Kristy Fitzl of Morris, Victoria Geralds of Mangum, Ariya Regnier of Cushing and Madison Rowe of Oklahoma City. The scholarship is awarded to those who are attending an accredited college, university or trade school, and must be an Oklahoma Farm Bureau member or a member of a Farm Bureau-member family. OKFB Ag PAC endorses two additional candidates, expands financial support ahead of Nov. 8 general election
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Ag PAC endorsed two more candidates and contributed an additional $16,900 in financial support to new and previously supported candidates leading up to the Nov. 8 general election. New OKFB Ag PAC endorsees include Josh Brecheen for United States House District 2 and Kim David, who the PAC previously supported for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. YF&R Shotgun Shoot raises more than $19,000 for OKFB Foundation for Ag
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers committee hosted their annual shotgun shoot Aug. 27 at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie, raising more than $19,000 to benefit the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture. The group hosted nearly 140 shooters on 34 four-person teams. The event tested shooters’ skills at stations mimicking real-life hunting scenarios. The first-place team – Hayden Hillary, Koy Davidson, Charlie Zimmerman and Cooper Davidson – and second-place team – Cody Richerds, Hunter Campbell, Clay Robertson and Nolin Marcus of Murray State College – received a cash prize. OKFB Legal Foundation praises Supreme Court in recreational marijuana ruling
The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled today to uphold the state statutory procedures a state question must follow to advance to the ballot. Last week, proponents of State Question 820 – a measure to legalize recreational marijuana – filed a petition to circumvent Oklahoma’s state statute for initiative petitions. The Court heard oral arguments on Friday, August 26 from the supporters of SQ 820 and Attorney General John O’Connor, who represented the Oklahoma Secretary of State, the Oklahoma State Election Board and Governor Kevin Stitt, who opposed the petitioners’ request to the court.
