More than 40 Oklahoma Farm Bureau members attended the 103rd American Farm Bureau Convention Jan. 7-12 in Atlanta, Georgia where they took part in general sessions, competed in Young Farmers and Ranchers competitive events, set grassroots policies and received national awards. Members set grassroots policies for 2022 OKFB’s six voting delegates discussed and voted on Farm Bureau members’ grassroots policy proposals to set AFBF’s 2022 policy. Cattle markets, governmental overreach and regulations and labor issues were some of leading issues voted on by members. The Biden administration recently met with farmers, ranchers and other stakeholders to discuss the administration’s new plan for a fairer, more competitive meat and poultry supply chain. The action plan has received mixed reviews from agriculture groups across the nation. OKFB to co-host 2022 Candidate School
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to co-host the 2022 Candidate School alongside the Oklahoma State Chamber and the Oklahoma Association of Realtors. The event is for anyone interested in running for a state house or senate seat. Participants will learn about the nuts and bolts of campaigning before the 2022 election cycle. OKFB member appointed to AFBF YF&R Committee
American Farm Bureau recently appointed Ottawa County Farm Bureau member Alisen Anderson to the AFBF Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. Anderson will serve a two-year term beginning in February 2022. OKFB Foundation accepting donations for Kentucky producers affected by tornadoes
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is accepting donations for Kentucky farmers and ranchers impacted by tornadoes that struck the state Dec. 10. The Governor of Kentucky said the storms are the most devastating tornado event in the state’s history along with declaring a state of emergency. The foundation encourages county organizations to donate to the cause, and the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture will match the donation up to $100. OKFB launches $125,000 endowment to support OSU students in Washington, D.C.
Oklahoma Farm Bureau recently launched a $125,000 endowment with the OSU Foundation for Oklahoma State University students interning in Washington, D.C. Oklahoma Farm Bureau is set to host the first-ever Generation Bridge Winter Conference Jan. 28-29, 2022, in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma Farm Bureau hosted the first-ever Evening of Impact fundraising dinner benefitting the OKFB Ag PAC political action committee Friday, Dec. 3, at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
