Oklahoma Farm Bureau joined four fellow agriculture and mineral owner groups this week to announce the formation of the Royalty Owner Coalition of Oklahoma, a non-profit corporation to create a structured, consistent and strong voice for the interests of Oklahoma mineral owners. Representing approximately 150,000 individual members, the founding organizations of ROCO include the National Association of Royalty Owners of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, American Farmers and Ranchers, Farmers Royalty Company and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association. More than 1,300 students gathered at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds for the Oklahoma State Fair Livestock Judging Contest sponsored by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers on Sept. 16. Students from third through 12th grades in 4-H and FFA competed in market and breeding classes of beef cattle, swine, sheep and goats. Students in junior and senior age divisions evaluated each class and answered questions on two of the classes as individuals and as teams. Tax proposals risk future of family farms, OKFB tells Congress

OKFB YF&R shotgun shoot raises more than $11,000 to benefit foundation
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers raised more than $11,000 at their third-annual shotgun shoot held at Quail Ridge Shooting Sports near McLoud on August 28. The funds raised will benefit the OKFB Foundation for Agriculture, which seeks to connect consumers with accurate agriculture information as well supporting agriculture and rural communities in Oklahoma. More than 70 women gathered for the 2021 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee Fall Conference Aug. 27 and 28 at the Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center in Edmond. The two-day conference featured educational sessions, crafts, games and a trade show. Members learned about Oklahoma Agritourism, Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom, OKFB safety services, sharing the story of agriculture and bridging the gap between generations within the organization. Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Oklahoma 4-H have partnered to sponsor a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the OKFB/Oklahoma 4-H ATV Training Facility near the Logan County Fairgrounds in Guthrie. Open to students in grades third through sixth, safety program topics will include ATV and UTV safety, electrical safety, fire safety, rollover prevention, tractor safety, grain elevator safety and much more. USDA announces $1 billion for CFAP 2 payments for contract growers
Oklahoma livestock and poultry producers who did not previously qualify for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 can now apply to receive aid.
