Applications for second round of PPP loans open through March 31
Oklahoma farmers and ranchers may now benefit from a second round of Paycheck Protection Program loans with new improvements for agriculture producers. Approved by Congress in its recent COVID-19 relief package, the expanded PPP will provide $284 billion in funding for a second round of loans through March 31, 2021. American Farm Bureau pushed Congress for a number of improvements to the program to benefit farmers and ranchers including new qualifying expenses, using gross farm income to determine loan amounts and reducing the level of required losses to qualify. USDA expands CFAP eligibility, updates payment calculations
The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently announced additional assistance through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. The new assistance includes expanded eligibility for certain commodities and producers established in the recently passed relief package, as well as updated payments for producers who were eligible under previous iterations of the program. Producers may submit new applications or modify existing applications through the USDA Farm Service Agency between Jan. 19 and Feb. 26, 2021. OKFB to host Leadership Week
In place of its typical in-person Leadership Conference, Oklahoma Farm Bureau this year will host its first Leadership Week Feb. 1-5 to engage members across the state in the legislative process. Oklahoma Farm Bureau was recognized for its support of the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture during the 2021 AFBF Virtual Convention Foundation Night In on Jan. 11. As another year begins, Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Rodd Moesel recently weighed in on the lingering issues facing Oklahoma’s farmers and ranchers in a story in The Oklahoman. 2021 YF&R Collegiate Farm Bureau scholarship application open
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is now accepting applications for its inaugural $1,000 scholarship for Collegiate Farm Bureau members who are pursuing an agricultural degree.
