The four areas in which OKFB received the State Awards of Excellence are advocacy, engagement and outreach, leadership and business development, and membership value. Biden nominates Vilsack for secretary of agriculture
President-elect Joe Biden has nominated Tom Vilsack to serve as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. CFAP 2 application period closes Dec. 11
Oklahoma farmers and ranchers have until this Friday, Dec. 11 to apply for payments from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2, or CFAP 2. The program provides relief payments to eligible agricultural producers who have faced market disruptions and associated costs due to COVID-19. More than 31,000 Oklahoma producers have been approved for $280.5 million in CFAP 2 payments to date, with cattle producers receiving nearly 70% of those dollars. Money named OKFB Journalist of the Year
Jack Money of The Oklahoman recently was honored with Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s 2020 Journalist of the Year Award. OKFB Foundation for Agriculture, WLC donate ag books to educators
Twelve Oklahoma educators from across the state were recently presented with a basket of agriculture books for their classrooms. The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, alongside the OKFB Women’s Leadership Committee, sponsored this year’s Bushels for Books program. 2021 YF&R scholarship application open
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee is now accepting applications for its annual $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors who will pursue a higher degree in agriculture after graduation. Nine $1,000 scholarships, one from each OKFB district, will be awarded to high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture at an Oklahoma institution of high learning as a full-time student.
