OKFB’s youth leadership conference canceled
To protect the health and safety of students, the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee has decided to cancel its Oklahoma Youth Leading Agriculture program. OKFB cancels 2020 ag tour to north central Oklahoma
With the health and safety of members in mind, Oklahoma Farm Bureau has opted to cancel the upcoming OKFB ag tour scheduled for May 6-8 to North Central Oklahoma. The annual three-day event is an opportunity for OKFB members to learn more about agriculture within the state, experience regional agribusinesses and industries, while offering ideas that can be applied to their own agricultural operation. OKFB applauds Secretary Arthur’s letter of support for beef producers
Oklahoma Farm Bureau is grateful for the work of Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur this week as she urged U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to provide relief for the state’s beef cattle producers. In a letter, Arthur asked Perdue to direct resources from the recent Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act to the beef cattle industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Legislative update: Lawmakers approve emergency declaration, stabilize budget
Under strict health and safety measures, the Oklahoma Legislature convened for a historic special session on Monday, April 6 to respond to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s statewide health emergency declaration. OKFB urges support for livestock producers amid COVID-19
Oklahoma Farm Bureau this week joined 25 state Farm Bureau organizations in urging the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support livestock producers during the COVID-19 outbreak. Farmers and ranchers from across the state had an opportunity to express their concerns surrounding the impact of the coronavirus during a recent conference call with Sen. James Lankford and Oklahoma Farm Bureau leaders. After the U.S. Senate passed a historic $2 trillion coronavirus aid package late Wednesday, March 25, Lankford shared with OKFB members some of the tenets of the package including additional borrowing authority for the Commodity Credit Corp. and aid for livestock and specialty crop producers.
