State resolutions committee prepares proposed 2020 policies
A committee of nearly 40 Oklahoma Farm Bureau members met in Edmond Oct. 16-17 to review, condense and organize proposed resolutions to the organization’s 2020 policy book. Made up of farm and ranch members from across the state, the committee reviewed resolutions submitted by members in all 77 counties. The proposed policies cover a variety of agriculture and rural issues including ad valorem taxes, rural health care, rural broadband, cooperative extension services, mandatory animal identification, invasive species management and more. OKFB announces annual meeting trade show exhibitors
Oklahoma Farm Bureau will host its OKFB Expo alongside the organization’s 78th annual meeting held Nov. 8-10 in downtown Oklahoma City. Members attending the three-day convention are encouraged to visit the variety of exhibitors, including farm equipment, agribusiness services, jewelry, home decor and more. WLC to collect donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities during OKFB convention
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee is joining efforts with the American Farm Bureau Federation and other Farm Bureau organizations across the country to raise $100,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in honor of AFBF’s centennial. Farm Bureau members attending the OKFB Annual Meeting Nov. 8-10 in Oklahoma City are encouraged to bring individually wrapped, store-bought snack food items such as trail mix, pretzels, crackers, bagged popcorn, granola bars and dried fruit for the RMHC in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Farm Bureau women gather for fall conference
Nearly 80 women from across the state met for the 2019 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee Fall Conference Sept. 28 and 29 at the Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center in Edmond. The two-day conference featured educational workshops, crafts and activities and a trade show. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur who shared her efforts to work for farmers, ranchers and rural Oklahomans.
