Oklahoma Farm Bureau members will travel to Washington, D.C., April 16-20 to promote agriculture and rural Oklahoma during the organization’s annual Congressional Action Tour. The weeklong trip allows members to bring the concerns of Oklahoma farmers and ranchers to Capitol Hill. Members will meet with Oklahoma’s Congressional delegation, along with officials of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Application deadline extended to March 20 for $1,000 YF&R scholarships
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee has extended the deadline for applications for its annual $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors who will pursue a higher degree in agriculture after graduation. Applications now must be postmarked by no later than March 20, 2018. Nine $1,000 scholarships, one from each OKFB state board district, will be awarded to high school seniors pursuing a career in agriculture at an Oklahoma institution of high learning as a full-time student. 16th Annual YF&R Golf Classic to be held May 4 in Guthrie
The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers will host its 16th Annual YF&R Golf Classic on Friday, May 4 at the Cedar Valley Golf Club in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Proceeds of the event will benefit the OKFB Legal Foundation, which defends the rights of Oklahoma farmers and ranchers. Eleven state legislators honored with 2017 OKFB Champion Award
Eleven state legislators were honored with the 2017 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Champion Award during the OKFB Leadership Conference March 5 in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma Farm Bureau members will hear from candidates seeking to serve as the next governor of Oklahoma during the organization’s leadership conference held March 5 and 6 at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City. Caddo County celebrates Farm Bureau Week by giving back to community
In celebration of Oklahoma Farm Bureau Week, Caddo County Farm Bureau donated more than $12,000 to senior nutrition centers, 4-H and FFA programs and fire departments throughout the county. Senior nutrition centers in Anadarko, Apache, Binger, Carnegie, Cement, Cyril, Fort Cobb and Hinton each received $500 to help fund nutrition programs in the county. Berry, Patton join OKFB as field representatives
Oklahoma Farm Bureau has recently named Haley Berry and Caylie Patton as field representatives. In their new roles, the two will serve as liaisons between county Farm Bureaus and the state Farm Bureau. Oklahoma Farm Bureau members ages 18 to 35 are invited to attend the Young Famers and Ranchers Legislative Day held March 4 and 5 in Oklahoma City. Ron Justice named OKFB’s vice president of public policy
