Life on the farm has always been stressful and difficult. But it’s even more challenging today as farmers and ranchers deal with depressed commodity prices, rising input costs, unpredictable trade tariffs, devastating natural disasters and more.
As the burden weighing on agricultural producers seemingly becomes heavier each year, more and more farmers are dealing with stress, depression and other mental health challenges – either themselves or through a friend or family member.
For more than seven decades, Oklahoma Farm Bureau has aimed to address the problems facing farmers and ranchers – and this is no different. We want to bring awareness to the mental health issues facing farmers and ranchers by sharing stories and providing resources to help Oklahoma producers manage stress in themselves, in their families and in their communities.
Five north central Oklahoma farmers find peace amidst the stress of their way of life by relying on their faith, their families and one another.
